2. General principles
We operate this website on a strict data-minimization basis: it sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools, embeds no external fonts or scripts from third parties, and contains no forms processed on a server. For the technical delivery we use a hosting service based in the USA (see section 3).
If you choose a language using the language switch, the selection is saved
locally in your browser as nvt-lang. The website can use it to open
your preferred language when you next visit the root address. This preference
is not sent to a server. You can remove it by clearing this site's browser data.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is delivered via Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”), through its worldwide server network. When you access the site, Cloudflare processes technically necessary information that your browser transmits, typically:
- IP address of the requesting device,
- date and time of the request,
- requested resource and amount of data transferred,
- referrer URL and browser/user-agent information.
The processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure, fast and stable provision of this website). The data are kept only as long as this purpose requires and are not merged with other data sources.
A data processing agreement (Data Processing Addendum) is in place with Cloudflare. A transfer of personal data to the USA cannot be ruled out. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR), supplemented by the EU standard contractual clauses. We do not use any analytics or additional Cloudflare features. More information: Cloudflare privacy policy.
4. Contact by e-mail
If you contact us by e-mail, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, e-mail address, content of your message) exclusively to handle and answer your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual/contractual matters or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise; insofar as your inquiry concerns our products, processing may also serve to initiate a contract. Your data are never passed on to third parties without your consent. We delete your inquiry once it has been fully handled, unless statutory retention obligations apply. Under German commercial and tax law, business correspondence is kept for up to six or ten years.
For our e-mail communication we use Microsoft 365, a service of Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland, as a processor. A transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out; Microsoft is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), supplemented by the EU standard contractual clauses.
The contact page offers an inquiry composer. Your entries are assembled into a message text locally in your browser and handed to your own e-mail program. Nothing is transmitted to our servers, no intermediate state is stored, and nothing is written to your browser storage. Processing by us begins only once you send the message yourself, at which point the preceding paragraph applies.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
- erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
- withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future, where processing is based on consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR).
Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your habitual residence or place of work (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
6. SSL/TLS encryption
This site uses TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the „https://“ scheme in your browser’s address bar.
7. Changes to this policy
We adapt this privacy policy when required by law or when our services change. Status: October 2026.
